Itinerary

Day 1 | Saturday DURBAN to PORT EDWARD (approximately 190km) 

Guests can relax and enjoy their morning at their own pace. The tour will set off in the late afternoon towards Port Edward on the South Coast. Arrival is expected in the early evening, allowing time for dinner (at guests’ expense) at one of the resort’s various dining options. 

Overnight stay at Wild Coast Sun or a similar hotel – Breakfast included. 

Day 2 | Sunday PORT EDWARD to MTHATHA (approximately 280km) 

After a leisurely morning, guests will depart for Mthatha, with a lunch stop along the way (at guests’ expense). Upon arrival, guests have the opportunity to explore the legacy of Nelson Mandela, a revered figure in South Africa. After checking into the hotel in the late afternoon, guests can freshen up before heading out for dinner (at guests’ expense). 

Overnight stay at Garden Court Mthatha or a similar hotel – Breakfast included. 

Day 3 | Monday MTHATHA to PORT ALFRED (approximately 365km) 

Guests will start the day with an early breakfast before heading to Port Alfred via Qunu. A lunch stop will be made en route (at guests’ expense), with arrival at the hotel in the late afternoon. Guests can enjoy drinks (at guests’ expense) before indulging in the local cuisine for dinner. 

Overnight stay at The Royal St Andrews Lodge or a similar hotel – Dinner and breakfast included. 

Day 4 | Tuesday PORT ALFRED to KNYSNA via EASTERN GARDEN ROUTE (approximately 410km) 

Following an early breakfast, guests will embark on a boat cruise (weather permitting) along the picturesque Kowie River before traveling inland along the Garden Route. Lunch will be in Tsitsikamma (at guests’ expense), and guests can take a brief walk to the suspension bridge at the Storms River Mouth. There will be free time before dinner (at guests’ expense). 

Overnight stay at Premier Hotel The Moorings Knysna or a similar hotel – Breakfast included. 

NOTE: The vehicle may need to pick up guests from a hotel in Port Elizabeth.

Day 5 | Wednesday KNYSNA to OUDTSHOORN via CANGO CAVES (approximately 180 km) 

After enjoying breakfast, guests will set off for Oudtshoorn, with a chance to capture stunning photos of the Knysna Lagoon and Knysna Heads along the way. The group will stop for lunch (at their own expense) at an ostrich farm, where they can take a tractor tour (also at their own expense) to learn about the ostrich industry. In the Cango Valley, guests will explore the Cango Caves (entrance fee not included). Afterward, they will have some free time before dinner (at their own expense). 

Overnight at Protea Hotel by Marriott Riempie Estate or a similar accommodation – Breakfast included. 

Day 6 | Thursday OUDTSHOORN to CAPE TOWN via CAPE WINELANDS (approximately 450 km) 

Following breakfast, the journey continues along Route 62 through the picturesque Cape Winelands. Lunch will be taken en route (at guests’ own expense). Guests will visit a wine estate for a delightful cheese and wine pairing, followed by a guided tour of the cellar. Dinner options include the hotel (at their own expense) or one of the nearby restaurants. 

Overnight at StayEasy Cape Town City Bowl or a similar accommodation – Breakfast included. 

Day 7 | Friday FULL DAY at LEISURE in CAPE TOWN 

After breakfast, guests can spend the morning exploring the vibrant Mother City at their own pace or opt for a guided full-day tour to Cape Point (at their own expense), which includes visits to Cape Point and Boulders Beach (entrance fee not included). Guests can choose to dine out or enjoy a meal at the hotel (at their own expense). 

Overnight at StayEasy Cape Town City Bowl or a similar accommodation – Breakfast included. 

Day 8 | Saturday DAY OF DEPARTURE – MORNING at LEISURE in CAPE TOWN 

On the final day of the tour, guests can relax and enjoy their last morning at leisure. They may also choose to participate in an optional Table Mountain and City Tour (at their own expense).
