Itinerary

Day 1 | Saturday ARRIVAL DAY – AFTERNOON AT LEISURE in CAPE TOWN 

Guests will arrive at the hotel and have the option to relax or participate in an optional afternoon tour of Table Mountain and the city. This tour includes a visit to one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World, where they can appreciate the stunning views of Table Mountain. The journey will also take them through the Malay Quarter, the city center, Company Gardens, diamond shops, and, if time allows, the Castle of Good Hope. They will return to the hotel in the late afternoon for a tour briefing with the guide at 6:30 PM, where they can also explore additional optional excursions. Dinner will be at the hotel (at their own expense).

Day 2 | Sunday FULL DAY AT LEISURE in CAPE TOWN 

Cape Town presents a wide range of excursions and activities. Guests may opt for a full-day tour to Cape Point, which includes a visit to Cape Point and Boulder’s Beach (entrance fee not included). Dinner can be enjoyed at the hotel or at a local restaurant (at their own expense).

Day 3 | Monday CAPE TOWN to WELLINGTON via CAPE WINELANDS (±115km) 

After breakfast, guests will head northeast to Wellington, passing through the picturesque Cape Winelands, where they can enjoy a craft beer tasting. They will then take a walking tour of Stellenbosch and Paarl, South Africa’s third oldest town, with a lunch stop (at their own expense) at one of the many wine farms and eateries. At Paarl Rock, guests will visit the Afrikaanse Taalmonument to learn about the history of Afrikaans, Africa’s youngest language. 

Wellington is known for its Cape Dutch homesteads, beautiful gardens, wineries, and South Africa’s only whiskey producer. Guests will check in at the guest house and have some leisure time before enjoying drinks and dinner at one of the guest house’s restaurants.

Day 4 | Tuesday WELLINGTON to OUDTSHOORN via ROUTE 62 (±390km) 

After a delightful breakfast, guests will set off from Wellington towards Oudtshoorn, located in the Klein Karoo, taking the picturesque Bainskloof Pass, celebrated as the ‘Gateway to the North’ and recognized as a national monument. This route provides breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Guests will indulge in a cheese and wine pairing, followed by a cellar tour at a vineyard in the Robertson wine valley. Upon arrival at the guest house on the outskirts of Oudtshoorn, guests can look forward to a warm dinner and welcoming atmosphere. 

Overnight at De Zeekoe Guest Farm or a similar accommodation – Breakfast included. 

Day 5 | Wednesday OUDTSHOORN to KNYSNA via CANGO CAVES (±160km) 

After breakfast, guests will head south through the scenic Outeniqua Pass towards Knysna. A stop will be made in the Cango Valley to explore the stunning underground formations of the Cango Caves. Once back above ground, guests will visit a nearby ostrich farm to learn about the fascinating ostrich-farming industry. Lunch will be available at the farm’s restaurant (at own expense). 

The journey continues with a stop in Wilderness for photo opportunities and breathtaking views from the Map of Africa lookout point (weather permitting) before proceeding to Knysna. Dinner will be enjoyed at a boutique hotel (at own expense). 

Overnight at Overmeer Guest House or a similar accommodation – Breakfast included. 

Day 6 | Thursday FULL DAY AT LEISURE in KNYSNA 

After breakfast, guests have the entire day to relax or partake in optional activities in and around Knysna. They can take a ferry to the Featherbed Nature Reserve (at own expense, including lunch). A local tour guide will share stories about Knysna while guests enjoy stunning views from the ferry and a 4WD vehicle. An optional guided nature walk through the forest and along the coast is highly recommended. Guests can savor a buffet lunch at a unique outdoor restaurant nestled under a canopy of milkwood trees by the lagoon. After some leisure time, dinner will be available (at own expense).

Day 7 | Friday KNYSNA to PORT ALFRED via EASTERN GARDEN ROUTE (±410km) 

After a delightful early breakfast, the journey begins towards the charming marina town of Port Alfred, following the scenic Garden Route. Stop at the Storms River Mouth to take in breathtaking views from the Tsitsikamma suspension bridge. Continue along the picturesque coastal road to Port Alfred, nestled along the Kowie River in the beautiful Sunshine Coast. The group arrives at the hotel in the late afternoon, where guests can unwind with refreshing drinks (at their own expense) and indulge in local delicacies. 

Overnight at The Royal St Andrews Lodge or a similar accommodation – Dinner and breakfast included. 

 

Day 8 | Saturday PORT ALFRED to WILD COAST (±300km) 

After an early breakfast, guests set off for the stunning Wild Coast. A lunch stop will be made along the way before reaching the charming beach resort in the afternoon. The hotel offers breathtaking views of the Wild Coast beaches and lush tropical surroundings. Guests have time to freshen up before dinner. 

Overnight at Trennery’s Hotel or a similar accommodation – Dinner and breakfast included. 

 

Day 9 | Sunday FULL DAY AT LEISURE – WILD COAST 

After breakfast, guests can enjoy a leisurely day. They have the option to participate in various activities such as extreme golf, a lagoon cruise, canoeing, or hiking, or simply relax at the hotel’s recreational facilities. For those interested, a visit to a traditional homestead offers a taste of authentic local hospitality (at their own expense). All excursions are led by local guides, with proceeds benefiting the community. Lunch at the hotel is available (at their own expense). Guests can enjoy pre-dinner drinks (at their own expense) followed by a delicious seafood buffet. 

Overnight at Trennery’s Hotel or a similar accommodation – Dinner and breakfast included. 

Day 10 | Monday WILD COAST to HARDING (±380km) 

Guests start their day with an early breakfast at the hotel before setting off for Kokstad, traveling through Mthatha along the Mandela Route. This picturesque journey on the N2 highway leads to Mthatha, home to the Nelson Mandela Museum, which showcases the life and legacy of Mandela. If time allows, guests can explore other notable sites in Mthatha. Lunch will be on your own during the trip. The group is expected to arrive at the resort in the late afternoon, where guests can relax, freshen up, and enjoy dinner at the hotel. 

Overnight at ANEW Ingeli Forest Resort or a similar accommodation – Dinner and breakfast included. 

Day 11 | Tuesday HARDING to ST LUCIA (±460km) 

After an early breakfast, guests will depart for St Lucia at 7:30 am. The KwaZulu-Natal province, often called the Elephant Coast, is renowned for its majestic mountains, the warm Indian Ocean, lush tropical vegetation, and diverse wildlife. Lunch will be on your own during the journey. The group is expected to reach the hotel in the late afternoon, with dinner available in town at guests’ expense. 

Overnight at Forest Lodge or a similar accommodation – Breakfast included. 

 

Day 12 | Wednesday ST LUCIA to ESWATINI (±335km) 

Before breakfast, guests will hop onto an open safari vehicle for a game drive in South Africa’s first World Heritage Site, the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Here, they can spot hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species during an eco-friendly boat cruise on the estuary. The tour then heads to the Kingdom of Eswatini, one of Africa’s smallest countries and an absolute monarchy. 

A stop will be made at the Swazi Candle factory, where each candle is handcrafted using the millefiori technique. The group will arrive at the lodge in the late afternoon, allowing guests to unwind, freshen up, and choose to dine at the hotel or in town (at their own expense). 

Overnight at Mantenga Lodge or a similar accommodation – Breakfast included. 

NOTE: Guests entering the Kingdom of Eswatini must have a valid passport, and certain nationalities may need to adhere to multi-entry visa requirements.

Day 13 | Thursday Eswatini to HAZYVIEW via KRUGER NATIONAL PARK (±250km) 

The journey begins as the tour departs Eswatini at the Jeppe’s Reef border post, making its way to the Malelane Gate of Kruger National Park. Guests will enjoy a guided game drive through the park en route to Hazyview. 

Kruger National Park is part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park. A lunch break (at guests’ expense) will be taken at one of the park’s rest camps before continuing to Hazyview, known as the gateway to the breathtaking Panorama Route. Upon arrival at the hotel, guests can savor dinner before settling in for the night.

Day 14 | Friday FULL DAY IN KRUGER NATIONAL PARK (±250km) 

After an early breakfast, guests will spend the entire day discovering the wonders of Kruger National Park. They will board a closed vehicle for a guided game drive, where they can witness Africa’s magnificent wildlife and unique bird species. A lunch stop will be made at one of the park’s rest camps (at guests’ expense). An optional full-day safari in an open vehicle is available for those interested (at guests’ expense and excluding lunch). In the late afternoon, guests will exit Kruger National Park and return to the hotel to freshen up and enjoy pre-dinner drinks (at guests’ expense) before dinner.

Day 15 | Saturday HAZYVIEW to JOHANNESBURG via PANORAMA ROUTE (±500km) 

Following breakfast, guests will head to Johannesburg along the picturesque Panorama Route. The journey begins at Wonder View, the highest point on this route. 

The tour will include visits to Bourke’s Luck Potholes, the Three Rondavels, and the Blyde River Canyon, recognized as the world’s largest green canyon. These stunning locations are celebrated as natural wonders of the country. Guests will stop for lunch along the way (at their own expense). The tour will reach Johannesburg in the late afternoon, allowing guests to enjoy the evening at their leisure. Dinner will be available at the hotel (at guests’ expense). 

Overnight at Protea Hotel by Marriott Balalaika or a similar accommodation – Breakfast included. 

Day 16 | SundayDAY OF DEPARTURE – MORNING AT LEISURE in JOHANNESBURG

Guests spend the day at leisure before they are transferred to the airport (own arrangement and own account).
