Itinerary

Day 1 | Monday CAPE TOWN to WELLINGTON via CAPE WINELANDS (±115km) 

Following breakfast, guests will head into the beautiful Winelands for a craft beer tasting (at their own expense) before embarking on a walking tour of Stellenbosch. Lunch will be on your own. At Paarl Rock, guests will visit the Afrikaanse Taalmonument. Enjoy some leisure time before drinks and dinner (at your own expense). 

Overnight at Val du Charron Guest House or a similar accommodation – Breakfast included. 

 

Day 2 | Tuesday WELLINGTON to OUDTSHOORN via ROUTE 62 (±390km) 

The journey continues to Oudtshoorn, passing through Bainskloof Pass and along Route 62. Guests will indulge in a cheese and wine pairing followed by a cellar tour. Lunch will be on the way (at your own expense). After arriving, enjoy some leisure time before dinner (at your own expense). 

Overnight at De Zeekoe Guest Farm or a similar accommodation – Breakfast included. 

 

Day 3-4 | Wednesday - Thursday OUDTSHOORN to KNYSNA via CANGO CAVES (±160KM) 

After breakfast, guests will explore the Cango Caves and take a tractor tour at a working ostrich farm. Lunch will be on your own. A stop in Wilderness will allow guests to take in the views from the Map of Africa lookout point (weather permitting). Dinner will be at the hotel (at your own expense). The following day is free for leisure or optional excursions like Featherbed Nature Reserve (at your own expense, including lunch). Enjoy a buffet lunch and some leisure time before dinner (at your own expense). 

Overnight at Overmeer Guest House or a similar accommodation – Breakfast included. 

Day 5 | Friday KNYSNA to PORT ELIZABETH via EASTERN GARDEN ROUTE (±260KM) 

After an early breakfast, the tour sets off for Port Elizabeth. Guests will visit the Storms River Mouth suspension bridge. Lunch will be enjoyed (at your own expense) in the Tsitsikamma Forest. Dinner will be at the hotel (at your own expense). 

Overnight at The Kelway Hotel or a similar accommodation – Breakfast included. 

Day 6 | Saturday PORT ELIZABETH to JOHANNESBURG (Flight arrangements at your own expense) 

Following breakfast, guests will be picked up from the hotel and taken to the airport for their flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival, guests will be greeted and transferred to a city hotel where they can unwind before dinner (at their own expense). 

Overnight at The Capital on Bath or a similar hotel – Breakfast included. 

Day 7 - 8 | Sunday - Monday JOHANNESBURG to KRUGER NATIONAL PARK 

Guests will depart Johannesburg at 6:30 am, embarking on a scenic journey northeast in a Drifters overland truck. Lunch will be enjoyed in the charming town of Haenertsburg (own expense). Guests will settle into the comfortable Bush Lodge, located in a private reserve within the greater Kruger National Park. The next morning, guests will start with a light breakfast of fresh coffee and rusks before heading out for an exciting morning adventure in this ‘Big 5’ region. 

Overnight at Bush Lodge – Brunch and dinner included. 

Day 9 | Tuesday PANORAMA ROUTE - HAZYVIEW 

After breakfast, guests will set off to discover the stunning highlights of the Panorama Route, renowned for its natural beauty and scenic viewpoints. Lunch will be at guests’ own expense, providing a chance to interact with the locals. If time allows, guests can enjoy a nature walk at Greenfire Lodge and the nearby coffee farm. 

Overnight at Greenfire Lodge Hazyview – Breakfast and dinner included. 

Day 10 | Wednesday KRUGER NATIONAL PARK 

Guests will leave the lodge at sunrise and travel a short distance to explore a different section of the Kruger National Park for a full day of wildlife viewing. There will be stops at various designated areas to stretch and enjoy lunch (own expense) at one of the park’s rest camps. Later in the afternoon, guests will exit the park and return to the lodge for dinner. 

Overnight at Greenfire Lodge Hazyview – Breakfast and dinner included. 

 

Day 11 | ThursdayJOHANNESBURG

After a leisurely breakfast, guests will depart Hazyview and head back to Johannesburg. The tour will conclude in the late afternoon upon arrival at the hotel in Johannesburg.
