Day 1NAIROBI

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, guests will be greeted by a representative from Fundani Tours and taken to their hotels. The rest of the day is free for guests to relax and explore at their own pace.

Overnight at House of Waine – Breakfast included.

 

Day 2-3LAKE NAIVASHA

After breakfast, guests will set off for the Giraffe Centre and the David Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage, passing through the suburbs of Nairobi. Here, they will have the chance to interact with and learn about orphaned elephants and rhinos. At the Giraffe Centre, guests can see and feed the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe. Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant before heading to the Great Rift Valley. The Great Rift Valley Lodge, situated above Lake Naivasha, offers stunning views of this magnificent valley.

On the following day, guests will have a full day to enjoy activities at Lake Naivasha. Children are welcome to join organized events such as a bird walk, tree planting for afforestation, and a discussion on the role of birds in the ecosystem. Lunch will be provided at the lodge, and in the afternoon, children can take advantage of a complimentary golf lesson at one of Africa’s premier golf courses.

Day 4OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY

Following breakfast, the tour will head to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, renowned as one of the top conservancies in Kenya and Africa. This area is home to both black and white rhinos, various large predators, and the only chimpanzee sanctuary in the country. The main lodge, once the ranch manager’s residence, exudes old-world charm with its expansive windows overlooking the vast plains. Don’t miss the afternoon game drive for an unforgettable experience.

Day 5OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY

After enjoying breakfast, guests will spend another delightful day at Ol Pejeta Conservancy. This remarkable place has transformed from a colonial cattle ranch into a leader in conservation efforts, showcasing a story that is both captivating and motivating. With some of the highest predator populations in Kenya, Ol Pejeta also successfully runs a livestock program. The conservancy is dedicated to supporting the local communities, ensuring that wildlife conservation leads to improved education, healthcare, and infrastructure for future generations of wildlife protectors. Today’s activities include a visit to the Morani Centre.

Day 6SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

Following breakfast, guests will head to Samburu Intrepids in the Samburu National Reserve. This rugged and remote area is home to the ‘Special 5’ – Gerenuk antelope, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and Grevy’s zebra. Guests will enjoy both a morning and an afternoon game drive led by an expert guide from the Samburu tribe.

Day 7SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

Guests will spend a full day discovering the wonders of Samburu National Reserve, renowned for the story of Elsa the lioness in “Born Free,” made famous by Joy and George Adamson. The day includes morning and afternoon game drives, with organized activities for children. Samburu Intrepids Camp offers stunning views over the wildlife-rich banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River.

Day 8MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

The journey begins with a scheduled flight to Mara Intrepids Camp, located in the heart of the Masai Mara National Reserve. This camp is perfectly positioned along the Talek River, making it an excellent spot for witnessing the wildebeest migration from August to October. During other times of the year, guests can experience some of the best ‘Big 5’ wildlife sightings in the Mara. In the afternoon, enjoy a thrilling game drive.

Day 9-10MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

For those interested, there’s an optional early-morning hot-air balloon ride available at an additional cost, complete with a champagne-style breakfast. Guests will set out on an early morning game drive before returning to the lodge to relax during the hottest part of the day. The cooler early morning and late afternoon hours are ideal for spotting wildlife.

Day 11DEPARTURE

After breakfast, guests will head to Nairobi, arriving around noon for drop-off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or a city hotel. Those wishing to extend their adventure can catch a flight to Lamu.
