Itinerary

Day 1 | Sunday KALAHARI DESERT 

Departing from Windhoek, we venture into the vast expanse of the Kalahari Desert, the largest sand mass on the planet. This remarkable landscape is home to a surprising variety of wildlife that has adapted to thrive here. Enjoy the stunning red dunes, diverse flora, and fauna on an optional nature drive.

Day 2 | Monday FISH RIVER CANYON 

Our journey continues southward across the dry, rocky plains. We visit the fascinating Garas quiver tree forest, where you’ll find whimsical human-made sculptures. The area, known as “Giant’s Playground,” features intriguingly stacked boulders. Afterward, we proceed to our lodge, where you can explore the surroundings on foot or join an optional guided nature drive in the late afternoon.

Day 3 | Tuesday LÜDERITZ 

We begin our day at the edge of the Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon globally, boasting a massive ravine that stretches approximately 160km and reaches widths of up to 27km. Our next stop is Naute Kristall Cellar and Distillery, where you can enjoy an optional liquor tasting or a cup of coffee. We then make our way to the coastal town of Lüderitz, stopping at Garub to view the Wild Horses of the Namib Desert. Upon arrival in Lüderitz, we will explore this charming historic town.

Day 6 | Friday SWAKOPMUND 

After breakfast, we continue our adventure towards the small settlement of Solitaire, then travel through the vast, rolling hills of the Kuiseb Valley until we reach the Atlantic Ocean. Upon arriving in the coastal town of Walvis Bay, we’ll visit the shallow lagoon, recognized as a RAMSAR World Heritage Site. Continuing along the picturesque route between the dunes and the ocean, we arrive in Swakopmund, where you can spend the rest of the day at your leisure. With its palm-lined streets and beautiful seaside promenades, Swakopmund is a favored vacation spot in Namibia.

Day 5Lake Geneva and Château de Chillon

It’s market day in Lausanne! Enjoy browsing and packing a picnic lunch for our 11 a.m. boat cruise on Lake Geneva. A few miles down-shore we’ll dock at Château de Chillon, where we’ll have a guided tour of this delightfully medieval castle on the water. On our way back we’ll take time to peek into the vineyards surrounding Lutry before returning to Lausanne. Boat: 2 hrs. Bus: 1 hr. Walking: moderate.

Day 7 | Saturday SWAKOPMUND 

Swakopmund is affectionately known as the “playground of Namibia.” This charming town offers a wide array of activities, from thrilling adventures to discovering the unique features of the Namib Desert, along with its resilient flora and fauna. You can either soak in the laid-back atmosphere of this picturesque coastal destination or dive into the many exciting experiences available. 

 

Take a moment to explore the character of this delightful town, filled with historic architecture, intriguing museums, bustling shopping areas, and a lively beach bar, all brought to life by vibrant colors and a bohemian vibe.

Superior: Overnight at Strand Hotel – Breakfast and a marine cruise included. 

Day 8 | Sunday DEPARTURE 

fter enjoying breakfast, we will transfer back to Windhoek, where you can choose to return to your hotel or head to the international airport for your flight home.
