Experience the beauty and sounds of the Klein Karoo; wander through the Garden Route and drop a postcard at the famous Post Office Tree. Spot the ‘Big 5’ and explore the southernmost point of Africa.
Guests will be picked up from their hotel and journey inland along Route 62. A delightful lunch (at own expense) awaits in Barrydale, nestled at the base of the Langeberg mountains. Afterward, the adventure continues to Calitzdorp, known as South Africa’s port wine capital, where guests can indulge in wine tasting (at own expense). Oudtshoorn, famously known as ‘the ostrich capital of the world,’ is home to over 400 ostrich farms. Guests will hop on a tractor for a guided tour of a working ostrich farm. Dinner will be enjoyed in town.

After breakfast at the hotel, guests will set off for Knysna. The tour includes a visit to the Cango Caves, a stunning 20 million-year-old cave system in the Swartberg mountains, before crossing over the Outeniqua mountains to the picturesque Garden Route. Guests can take in the breathtaking views from Dolphin Point and the Map of Africa (weather permitting) and enjoy lunch (at own expense). In Knysna, guests will board a boat for a sunset oyster tour (weather permitting), where they will learn about local wines and the exquisite flavors of the wild Knysna oyster. Dinner will be served at a restaurant overlooking the Knysna Estuary.

After breakfast, guests will check out of the hotel and head towards Mossel Bay. The itinerary includes a visit to the Dias Museum Complex, featuring various museums such as the Shell and Maritime Museums, along with the famous Post Office Tree. Guests will enjoy lunch (at own expense) at The Point. The journey continues to a private game reserve, where guests will have the chance to spot the ‘Big 5’ and other wildlife. An open safari vehicle will take guests on an afternoon game drive, followed by an outdoor dining experience (weather permitting).
Overnight at Garden Route Game Lodge or a similar accommodation – Dinner
Guests kick off the day with an early morning game drive followed by breakfast. The journey to Arniston, a charming coastal village along the Cape’s southern coast, begins. Along the way, guests can enjoy lunch (at their own expense) and, if time allows, sample some local farm produce (also at their own expense). Dinner will be provided at the hotel.
Overnight stay at The Arniston Hotel or a similar establishment – includes dinner and breakfast.
Day 5 | Friday / Sunday
Journeying from ARNISTON to CAPE TOWN via FALSE BAY (approximately 290km)
After breakfast, guests set off for Cape Agulhas, the southernmost point of Africa where the Indian Ocean meets the Atlantic. A visit to the new Africa map monument and the Cape Agulhas Lighthouse and Museum is included. The tour then proceeds to Hermanus, famous for its whale watching opportunities. During the season (July to November), southern right whales can be spotted as they return to these waters to give birth. Lunch will be taken along the way (at their own expense). The tour continues along the scenic False Bay coast, wrapping up in the late afternoon at a hotel in Cape Town.
