As soon as guests touch down at Entebbe International Airport, they will be warmly greeted and guided by a friendly representative from Fundani Tours. From there, they will be whisked away to the cozy and comfortable accommodations of The Boma Guest House in Entebbe for an overnight stay. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace, with plenty of leisurely activities to choose from. When it comes to dinner, feel free to make your own arrangements and savor a meal that suits your taste buds.

Prepare to embark on an unforgettable adventure! Our journey begins bright and early at 6.30am, as we gather our esteemed guests and whisk them away to the airport for a 7.45am flight bound for the magnificent Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Brace yourselves for an awe-inspiring experience as we touch down at Kihihi Airstrip at 8.55am. From there, a short 40-minute transfer will transport you to the remarkable Mahogany Springs Lodge, our sanctuary amidst the lush rainforest.
Get ready to immerse yourself in the wonders of nature as we embark on an incredible gorilla tracking expedition that will span the next two nights. Discover the enchanting beauty of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, nestled in the captivating landscapes of south-western Uganda. This extraordinary rainforest is a harmonious blend of plains and mountains, spanning an impressive 32,000 hectares. Prepare to be captivated by its remarkable biodiversity, boasting a staggering array of over 160 tree species and more than 100 varieties of ferns. As you explore this natural wonderland, keep your eyes peeled for the vibrant tapestry of birds and butterflies that call this place home. But that’s not all – Bwindi is also a sanctuary for endangered species, including the majestic mountain gorilla. Get ready to embark on an unforgettable journey into the heart of this remarkable rainforest.
Overnight at Mahogany Springs Lodge – Lunch, dinner, and breakfast.
After a hearty breakfast, guests will set off on an exciting gorilla trek. Before 8am, guests need to check in at the ranger station for registration and a briefing from one of the rangers. The guides will then lead guests through the dense vegetation, clearing a path to find the gorillas. The trek can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 7 hours.
A good level of fitness is necessary, along with sturdy walking boots. It’s an incredible experience being in the lush rainforest, knowing you’re in the presence of some of the last mountain gorillas – with only around 1000 of these magnificent creatures left. Guests will have a full hour to observe the gorillas before heading back to the base station. In the afternoon, guests will visit the local community, where they can learn about the Batwa and Bafumbira people’s way of life.

Guests will be transferred to the airstrip for a convenient scheduled flight, either at 9.25am or 11.25am, heading towards the Entebbe International Airport. From there, they can catch their departure flight back home or continue their exciting travel adventures.
